2026 Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition: AI Intelligence, Healthy Lighting, and Immersive Experiences Drive the Lighting Industry Upgrade

From June 9 to 12, 2026, the 31st Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE, also known as International Lighting Exhibition) was successfully held in Areas A and B of the China Import and Export Fair Complex. Held concurrently with the Guangzhou International Building Electrical Technology Exhibition (GEBT), the event exceeded 210,000 square meters in scale. It attracted 2,802 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions, along with over 210,000 visitors, demonstrating the strong momentum of the lighting industry’s transformation from single-lamp manufacturing to “light environment system services.” The exhibition themed “Dare to Create WE Come, Dare to Surpass” centered on the core value of “Light-Optimized Living.” It focused on five key pillars—biological health and rhythms, emotional psychology and atmosphere, digital interconnection and intelligence, ecological sustainability and nature, and immersive experiences and storytelling—showcasing numerous highlights.

New Products and Technological Highlights: AI Lighting and Healthy Lighting Become Mainstream

The AI Lighting Ecosystem Zone emerged as one of the biggest attractions. Enterprises prominently displayed AI-driven adaptive lighting systems that sense environmental conditions, occupant behavior, and building IoT infrastructure to create personalized light environments. These systems also support the “Light as a Service” (LaaS) commercial model. Multiple brands launched smart products integrating AI voice interaction, multimodal perception, and dynamic dimming and color tuning.

Healthy lighting and bio-optics received significant attention. The exhibition debuted a dedicated Bio-Optics and Smart Agriculture Zone, featuring tunable-spectrum plant lights and smart agricultural solutions for home gardens, office greenery, controlled-environment cultivation, and more. These innovations support crop growth and human-centric lighting (circadian rhythm synchronization). Products such as age-friendly light spectra and anti-glare sports lighting emphasized visual health and emotional regulation.

Innovations in Scenario-Based and Immersive Applications

The exhibition emphasized the “Space Creator” concept, positioning lighting as the underlying operating system for high-value spaces:

  • · Home and Commercial Spaces: Focused on technology, health, aesthetics, and sustainability, launching emotional lighting systems and artistic luminaires to enhance living and consumption experiences.
  • · Urban and Cultural-Tourism Applications: The Visual Magic Box 2026 project integrated intangible cultural heritage, light-shadow interactions, and digital content to create immersive night-tour scenes. Outdoor smart streetlights and integrated solar products highlighted low-carbon and intelligent features.
  • · China Lighting Capital Hall (newly established in Hall 8.1): Centrally showcased the Guzhen supply chain, covering home lighting, commercial lighting, decorative luminaires, and outdoor landscapes, enabling one-stop access to the entire industry chain.

Upstream technologies such as drivers, power supplies, chip packaging, and Micro-LED continued to iterate, supporting high efficiency, miniaturization, and environmentally friendly manufacturing. Organizations like the DALI Alliance participated in advancing interconnection standards.
